60 Faces of NCSY

Often, a person has no idea of the impact he or she has made on someone else. 60 Faces of NCSY was created to change that. The people we feature every day were nominated by NCSY alumni and NCSYers to express gratitude to someone that inspired them.

I grew up living in a very reform Jewish home. I always felt some sort of stronger connection to orthodox Judaism, but never got the chance to express it. Coming to high school, I joined NCSY and realized that I now had a chance to embrace my Jewish identity. I met Addey on the first day of school, and upon realizing how much we had in common, we immediately became close friends and have shared our ideas and feelings on Judaism and everything else going on in our lives.

I remember the first time Addey and I spent Shabbat together a week after an NCSY event, and we sat on the couch together and ebbed for hours. We were taken over by Shabbos spirit! Addey has taught me so much about how to delve into my Judaism, and has been there for me every step of the way in becoming more observant. She inspires me every single day, and although we have only known each other for two years, we are sisters. Addey– you can do anything you put your mind to. Nothing Can Stop You!!
