Cd’s, videocassette recorders, and the battery-powered “camcorders.” Pac-Man, Space Invaders and the PlayStation home entertainment center. Cable TV with MTV! Personal computers and the Macintosh! All of that and I didn’t even mention the big hair styles! What a time….what a time!!
Couple that with a place that boasts of the legendary personalities of Billy Joel, Ralph Macchio and Alec Baldwin who called their home Long Island. But they aren’t the only big names that lived east of NYC. How about Rabbi Barry Hammer, Rabbi Barry Nathan and way before Ray Barone’s name was ever mentioned on Long Island a young NCSY regional director named Rabbi Dovid Orlofsky was leading Maalot NCSY and impacting the Jewish scene during a period of time which has to be described as “Totally Awesome, to the MAX!!!”
